Flarne's Interactive Literature Club
📖Debate Your Favorite Classics with Other Enthusiasts
An Interactive Literature Club is not a traditional book club.
Each session is built around a substantial Flarne critique, typically 10 to 20 pages long, specially written to continuously stimulate reflection, disagreement, interpretation, and debate.
We come together to discuss some of the greatest works of world literature: Shakespeare, Tolstoy, Kafka, Camus, Dostoevsky, Proust, and many others.
The goal is not simply to read.
The goal is to:
confront different interpretations of the critique;
share your own perspective on how Flarne interprets and critiques the work;
discover the viewpoints of other participants;
challenge those viewpoints, or be enriched by them, sometimes leading you to appreciate a work you once disliked;
discover new ways of experiencing and understanding classical literature.
Sessions take place simultaneously:

Whichever format you choose, everyone is encouraged to actively participate.

Anna Karenina, Crime and Punishment, Pride and Prejudice, Jane Eyre, The Metamorphosis, and many more will be featured.
A session is held once at least four (4) reservations have been made.
A reservation corresponds to the purchase of the associated critique.
Our goal is simple:
To organize only those sessions for which several readers have genuinely expressed a desire to participate. We would rather have 6 participants genuinely interested in intellectually stimulating discussions than 30 people expressing interest and 24 failing to attend.
These sessions have been designed as a true intellectual experience centered on the great literary classics. Without the critique, the experience would ultimately resemble what is already offered by many traditional reading groups.
Each participant therefore follows the same intellectual journey at the same time, line by line. Participants are encouraged to react, challenge, expand upon, or defend the ideas presented throughout the reading.
In a way, it is similar to watching a film together and having the ability to pause it every two minutes in order to discuss a scene, a symbol, a character, or an interpretation before continuing.
This collective experience is precisely what interests us: discovering not only the work itself, but also the often unconventional or transgressive way in which the critique presents and interprets it.
